This little application is a must have for the power user. Basically, Launchy boils down to a simple keystroke launcher. If you are not familar with keystroke lauchers, they allow you to quickly launch programs using your keyboard intead of your mouse.
Only registered users can write comments. Powered by AkoComment Tweaked Special Edition v.1.4.6 Lets says we want to launch Mozilla Firefox. So we use the hotkey, Alt+Space to bring launchy up, and begin to type fi At this point, my Launchy lists a few possible choices, Firefox being first since I have launched it most often, next Filezilla, then some other tools that I rarely use, mainly ones with File in their names. By using launchy, you save yourself a few seconds each time you need to launch a new program, which over time adds up. Also you benefit from not needing to remember the exact name and location of every single program in your start menu. In fact, if you are like me, after a few months of use, you will wonder why you ever used the start menu. |
